The wind is constantly blowing from the West on the island of Fanø in Denmark. You can be sure of that. One of those certainties we rely on to keep a straight line and calibrate our inner compass.
On a stormy January day, I took the ferry to Fanø to hunt woodcock and rabbits with Jesper, his dog, and his ferret.
Jesper is a well-traveled hunter and an even more experienced naval captain.
Life’s navigation is second nature, and we ride the waves knowing we will always find land and arrive at our final destination.
The wind was due West - the wanters murky, and the woodcock had fur.
